What to do between checkout and a later flight?

When you have a check out time in the morning and a flight that is later in the afternoon, how do you spend your day?

I just came across an app called Resort Pass. We can rent a room from 9am -5pm at the Hyatt Place at the airport with access to the pool, breakfast, etc. we are considering this option. Check out of the hotel, get over there before the craziness of carnival reply gets going then we are there, no traffic delays, no being extra early at the airport.

we don’t want to waste a day. We could check our bags at the hotel and enjoy the beach till the last minute, or grab some waterfront lunch. But when we do that it just feel like a lot of watching the clock and deciding when to leave, not very relaxing.

I think that if the price were right and my flight was after 4 PM, I would probably do it.

I think it sounds perfect. Since you’re only going for a week, it gives you a half day to enjoy. You’d be so stressed out worrying about traffic that you’d be sitting at the airport for hours otherwise. You could relax knowing that you’re right by the airport enjoying last minute beach time or enjoying lunch. Sounds like a plan.

I agreee sounds like a good plan if you can’t get a late checkout but how late is your flight? Remember if it’s a weekend you need to allow a lot of time.

For our date - a room for the day is $130+tax, or a day pass is $42/pp + tax. And it can be cancelled up to 2 days before so we are going to reserve the room so we can shower before going to the airport. They have a fitness center so I am guessing you could shower there as an option too, but I'm not sure on that. Our flight isn't until 5:45.

As for that site, they also had a day pass for Eagle Beach Resort and Radisson Blu with a cabana rental option. I could see this being an option if someone has a long cruise stop too. Some of the day passes are as low as $25.

Stressed at the beach or relaxing at the pool where I can walk to the airport.....I would take the day pass for the pool at the airport hotel....and that is being said by a die hard beach person!!

I think the airport Hyatt is a great idea, although we just go to the lounge when we have a long wait. We usually stay for much longer than a week so leaving on travel day isn't like losing a half day of a week stay.

We checkout of wherever we are staying and head to the Ritz for the day. They check in our bags for us and we spend the morning and early afternoon there. The latest we have flown out is about 5pm so we are still leaving the resort by 1:30.
Trip 38 booked for Feb! Cant wait.

Divi friends (and me this year) use their points and book an extra day. They then go to the front desk and say they are leaving a day early> They have be doing this for years. Yes they give up points but they can keep their room and leave when they want. This year I have a 5:00 PM flight even with allowing three hours before the Divi wants you out by like 11. This way I can leave at 2:00 under my terms.
