Wiring money from the US to Aruba.

When you wire money to a bank account in Aruba, do you get the full 1.78 to 1 exchange rate? The reason why I ask is that I just bought a condo in Aruba and need to transfer funds to the Notary's bank account. Can you wire US Dollars to Aruba without converting it into Florins?

Sounds like a question for the bank? Or Western Union?

My realtor just told me that the notary has an account in US Dollars for non residents. This means other than the 30 bucks my bank would charge me to wire the money, I pay noting extra; on account that there is nothing to convert.

I have wired money in the past to my bank account in Europe and I always get a little less than the "good" exchange rate.(for Euros) Your never going to get the official exchange rate for most currencies. In Europe the best place to exchange money are the train stations first followed by a "big" bank. The Airports are a ripoff. NEVER exchange money in a local bank in the US before you travel.
