Paul and I have yet to lay our heads on any pillows at the Ritz, but we have visited the resort each time we have been on island since it has opened.
We have visited Peg and Tom at their cabana a couple of years ago and enjoyed the pampering, as well as the pool and the beach. It is nice to have kind generous friends.
We have visited their casino numerous times and I believe that we never left that casino any wealthier than when we when we arrived.
My first impression with the Ritz was "Meh". I thought that their lobby was boring, understated and not at all the kind of lobby that represented aruba or the Caribbean.
Over the years, my opinion has changed and I believe that the place including the lobby is lovely.
I guess less really is more.
We have had lunch at the poolside restaurant and found that their burgers are delicious and not necessarily "Ritz Priced."
We have had dinner at Casa Nonna and found it delicious ..........sure paying $$$ for a plate of pasta is not my style, but it really is a lovely and delicious place. Their antipasto is delicious as is their chicken parm. Comparable to Boston's North End and IMO the best Italian on the island. Terazza Italiana is a very close 2nd on Aruba.
I know that some of our members have stayed at the Ritz and loved it.
Check out their site.
