Rosalie Klein

Born and raised in the United States, Rosalie Klein's passion for the underwater world brought her to Aruba. In 1980 Rosalie started as Aruba's first female certified PADI open-water SCUBA instructor — marking the beginning of her long connection with the island’s culture and tourism industry.

Rosalie started writing in 2001, submitting articles about tourism events and experiences in Aruba. She went on to write Aruba-related articles for countless national and international magazines, books and local newspapers.

For more than a decade Rosalie was the principal reporter for island papers The News and The Morning News. She is the author of the Moon Handbook Aruba, a 256 page in-depth guide to everything a vacationer would wish to know, including history, culture and environment.

In 2008 the Minister of Culture of Aruba recognized Rosalie Klein for her work chronicling Aruba’s cultural achievements and heritage.

Her professional career reflects a deep commitment to documenting, interpreting, and sharing Aruba’s unique cultural and natural identity both in written word and captivating photography. In her spare time Rosalie loves to paint and in past years has hosted various silk-painting demonstrations.

Rosalie in short:

  • Over 45 years of first hand experiences in Aruba
  • 25+ years experience as author, journalist and professional travel writer
  • Recognized for chronicling Aruba’s cultural achievements and heritage.
  • Dive instructor, photographer, visual artist
