The market takes place monthly at Plaza Lolita in San Nicolas.
The market features a wide variety of vendors offering local art, crafts, food, drinks, and locally grown produce. Combined with live steelpan music, an MC & DJ, the event creates a unique island vibe that reflects the vibrant spirit of San Nicolas for locals and visitors alike.
Guests can enjoy a local market with a variety of locally made paintings, arts and crafts as souvenirs, locally made products such as fresh juices, pepper sauce, sea moss gel, and flavored liquor. Of course, with it being a San Nicolas market, there is a variety of island food, such as the famous Johnny cakes, local pastry, food from various ethnicities that make up San Nicolas, such as dishes from Trinidad, Suriname, Grenada, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, local BBQ & local snacks. Guests can also purchase produce from local farmers. There are various seating areas where guests can relax, eat, have a local beer, and enjoy live steel-pan music.
The market started last year in September. It's had steady growth since. We started with 13 vendors in September and 6 months later it has become the biggest market with over 60 vendors.
The market has become a monthly outing for the residents of San Nicolas and for people from all over the island who come on Saturdays to take in the Caribbean vibe, grab fresh local products, and enjoy local food.
