Instituto Biba Saludabel y Activo, IBISA, has been making rounds among businesses and neighborhoods since it was introduced by the government in 2012.
IBISA’s dedicated personnel sees between 4,000 to 4,500 people each year.
Just recently, the health screening team made a stop at the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino inviting Team Members to drop in without an appointment, and receive a consultation, free of charge.
Over 130 Team Members took advantage of the offer and while receiving the consultation, they were offered free Blood Pressure testing. They were also invited to talk about their concerns with the visiting health professionals, and discuss their risk factors for heart disease and were given recommendations regarding life style and exercise.
The service is supported by Botica di Servicio, the local chain of pharmacies that pledged all testing materials and allocated funds to keep the health-care unit on the road, and in service of the community. Botica di Servicio and the Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino are both members of the Aruba Growth Fund family, shouldering their social responsibilities, by subsidizing the cost of bringing health care into the public sphere.
